How do I get rid of over-processed, very damaged hair?

I want my hair to be nice and soft again. What can I put in my hair to make it not so dry that when you brush it, the ends fall out (I know, gross)?

Shave it off?

The only solution is to cut it

I have very fine hair. I can do %26quot;one%26quot; and only one thing to my hair, so I get hilites. If I do more, like perm or frequent blowdry or iron, the hair is fried. But now, it looks great. So, cut the damaged part off, then limit the processing
Reply:Cut it off. Or if you think it is salvageable then try a K-Pak deep conditioner.
Reply:just leave it alone
Reply:Snip snip
Reply:Grow it out, and dont do anything to it! I used to use a type of relaxer in my hair that was too harsh for it, and it completley destroyedn my hair. I took me years of growing it out naturally and not processing it in any way to reveal my soft hair. It takes a while, but its worth it.
Reply:Condition, Condition, Condition!
Reply:If its that bad I say cut it off. Get a cute hair cut and let some healthier hair grow in. Hair grows back luckily.
Reply:well before i dyed my hair blue highlights and they had to bleach it before. it totally ruined my hair..when my hair was wet it was like elastics...it just eventually grew it and the hairdresser just cut those parts off as much as she could.

and now its normal.
Reply:the damaged ends need to be trimmed. then, wait for your hair to grow. in the meantime, you can put some extra virgin coconut oil on your hair. wash our hair three times a week and use a conditioner every time.
Reply:a trim always helps

and john frida products
Reply:get a buzz cut? jk jk

try a different shampoo and conditioner

use herbal essences hello hydration. and leave the conditioner in for a few minutes then rince... then go to a proffessional hair salon and buy a hydrating hair spray to put in after u wash ur hair... i used to have ur same prob...
Reply:No chemicals, no colors, bleaches, perms. In the future if you get stuff done to your hair go have a professional do it. You NEED deep conditioning treatments, and good trims every 2 to 4 weeks until your hair gets healthy. Go to a salon and ask for deep conditioning treatments, they will run about $10. each, and they could suggest something to use at home to help too.
Reply:Stop dying it, and messing with it. Use a comb to detangle your hair so your not ripping hair you. keep up with your hair by getting it trimmed every 4 to 6 weeks. you could try a deep conditioning treatment once every week or two weeks. dont bleach your hair! :) and keep it moisturized.
Reply:get it cut so the ends are more healthy and try to stay away from the heat for a while (straightener, blow drier) get some shampoo you like and conditioner that hydrates and softens. ( i use aussie moist shampoo and three minute miracle also by aussie)
Reply:Use a good conditioner like the Pantene Treatment type and I swear by the Shine spray I use, no matter how frizzy my hair gets from damage or weather it smoothes it right out. But that is just a temporary fix, the best thing overall is to give your head a break and avoid any damaging treatments and have the damaged hair cut off, either all at once or little by little if you%26#039;re worried about it being too short. If you do it all at once, check into Locks of Love, they make wigs with any type of hair they can get their hands on for sick kids. Mine had to be at least 7 inches so I went ahead and chopped it and sent 14. My head felt sooo much better! Good luck!
